I have been thinking about this "controversy" ever since I heard about it. I posted a video that explains the whole scenario, and it is kind of long, so take a few minutes to watch it when you have time.
These are some of the thoughts circulating through my head after watching this video....
I think it is becoming more and more "unpopular" to have traditional values and beliefs in today's society. However, I believe that's what makes it SO important to stand up for those beliefs.
The California candidate for Miss America was faced with a very important choice; she could merely take to the fence on the issue of gay marriage and probably win the title, or stand up for her beliefs and be shunned for doing so. Because she chose the latter (even though she isn't Miss America) she has a much greater opportunity. She has the opportunity to express her beliefs on national television and be a role model of integrity.
We can no longer hide in the gray areas; we must stand firmly on the side of righteousness. Society is trying to make right look wrong and wrong look right, and that is why it is so important to stand our ground and not slip (or be pushed) into the gray.

I agree with you totally, Cami. I believe we are in an era when good is being called bad and bad is being called good. I'm glad to see someone stand up for their beliefs at great sacrifice. It's time to get off the fence and say enough is enough. Good post.
HERE HERE! I was totally disgusted with the whole thing and watching that so called man saying she should say something that would make everyone feel better. If you weren't doing something wrong, you wouldn't feel the need to have the world validate it. I am so glad that she stood up for her beliefs. Thanks Cami
You go, girl!
