Camping, Camping, and more Camping

Our last three weekends have been camping filled. We have loved every minute of it, but also LOVE getting back to our bed and comfortable apartment each time. There's nothing like enjoying the great outdoors (really we do love it), but then enjoying the wonderful indoors once you get home.

About three weekends ago we had a ward campout that we were semi in charge of. It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed a chance to get to know some ward members a bit better. Unfortunately... no pics from that weekend.

The next weekend we went to City of Rocks with Riley and Chelsea (Blair grew up with Riley) to do some rock climbing. That was a lot of fun, and City of Rocks is an amazing place. It is just what it sounds like...a city of rocks. They jut out of the ground and are towering over you all around. It's pretty neat. I think Blair, Riley, and Chelsea all really enjoyed their time climbing; I did get on the rock once, but spent most of my time as a spectator (which was perfectly okay with me). It's always exciting to see new places, and we were definitely glad for this little weekend trip!!

Yes...that is Blair way up there (safely bolted in to the rock however)!

And yes...this is a bum shot...sorry! But I think it's cool to see all the gear they load up with before heading up the rock.

Riley and Chelsea and an amazing view!

Then, just last weekend we made the drive up to north of Couer d Alene to farragut state park to spend the 4th of july weekend with my family (well about half of them). It is a beautiful area and we lucked out by getting an absolutely ginormous group camp site where we had all the room and privacy we could've hoped for. We biked, rafted, swam, relaxed, ate, really enjoyed ourselves! It was a great weekend filled with lots of good food and good company, which according to Blair's equation ALWAYS equals good times!! Blair and I consider ourselves extremely blessed to have SO MUCH amazing family surrounding us (Gilbert's and Eyre's) and love the times when we get to spend time with them.

Family Hikes....LOVE THEM!!

This is the view into the beautiful bay where we went to watch fireworks on the fourth. It was an amazing show in amazing surroundings!

Well, there you have it....camping, camping, and more camping!
