Country Folk!!!

Blair and I have gone back to our roots! We now live in a cozy little house out in the country!!

In a nutshell, we were blessed to basically stumble upon a vacant house out in the country owned by a lady in my sisters ward and the rent was only going to be $1 more than what we were paying in our apartment where we were really sick of being hemmed in by way too many people (some of them scary) and it would only increase Blair's commute by about 7 minutes.....whew! So there you have it.

We feel really blessed the way things worked out, and we feel way more at home out in the country. Here are a few pictures of the view out of some of my windows. It sure beats the heck out of looking out my apartment window into someone elses apartment!!!!

Out the front window are some beautiful trees...

Out the kitchen you see the corn fields...

Ignore the dirty window and poor quality of this picture....but do notice the awesome view of the mountains in the distance! We see some awesome sunsets out this window.

I'll show more pictures of the house another day, but one thing that will certainly be a challenge is keeping Briggs from the HOT stove which will be one of our main sources of heat this winter. I love the coziness of having a fire on these cold fall days, but I won't love chasing him down constantly to keep him from burning himself. (I will be able to empathize with you Dannielle...I remember this same scenario with Odin...any tips?)

Don't worry, there was no fire in the stove at this time! Otherwise I wouldn't have been sitting back taking a picture :)

Some friends invited us to a Halloween dinner party at their house and we decided to dress the part of our new lives :) Okay, well not exactly. I didn't want to buy a costume for Briggs and I had access to a cute little cow costume....so Blair and I had to be the farmer and farmer's wife! It just made sense. But for the sake of this post, you can picture Blair, Briggs, and I living like this out in the country :)

So, Blair and I are loving life out here in wide open spaces...and we hope to never have to live any other way (hope, that is...we'll see what the future brings).

P.S. I have fallen off the blog wagon lately, and now I think I'm back on. I caught myself up....so there are like 8 more new posts below this one. Check them out if you'd like :)

super cute pics! I love livin' in a house too. We are kinda in the country. It's much more private and peaceful. Quick Question: Where did you go to change the layout of your blog. I'm getting so tired of mine always looking the same as everyone else's. I like that all the names are at the bottom. Let me know. Good seeing you a few weekends ago. The pumpkin patch was fun huh?

I love your costumes!!! I was planning on being a farmer this year too. I told my little 4 year old I was going to be a farmer and she laughed in my face..."mom, girls can't be farmers."

Sounds like things are great! For keeping your little man out of the stove try buying one of those paneled gates, he would still be too young to move them and it'd make you less worried about leaving him in that room alone.
