Gettin in the Christmas Spirit

Last year, Blair and I, mostly for budgeting purposes, bought a permit and chopped down our own Christmas tree. This year we decided to do it again, and who knows...maybe it'll become a tradition. We'll probably never find the perfectly bushy ones we could find in a store parking lot, but the memories of the hunt are priceless!!

Enjoying the mountain fresh air.

My hunter striking a macho pose.

Funny little thing...I found the tree I liked, but doubted myself and decided to try another spot. After searching for a while, we decided to go back to the previous spot and get the first tree. While Blair and his brother Matt went to go find it again, Dannielle (Matt's wife) and I stayed in the truck. I asked Blair to make sure they took a picture to document the moment. When they got back, they told us that Blair had a close encounter, but barely survived. I was confused, and as I looked at the photo, this is what I saw! Funny brothers decided to scheme a funny shot!! Scared me for a milisecond, but then I got a good laugh out of it.

I decided to try an idea I saw last year. I baked orange and lime slices to dry them out and then hung them on my tree. They smelled wonderful and actually look pretty cool on my tree.

The finished product! A little gappy here or there...but we like it. After we finished the decorating, I went and rented a Christmas movie to watch by the light of the tree. I love this time of year!

Well done Cami! Your tree was a good selection. That is a funny picture, silly boys. Your orange slices look nice, adds a pretty color. I love this time of year as well. I will e-mail you the photos I took of you and Blair. Could you do the same of the ones that you took?
Love- Dannielle

Cami! Yay for blogs! I'm so glad that you let me know you had one too! Your tree adventure looks like a blast, and is making me second guess our decision to not get a "big" tree this year. And the orange/lime slices look like a way good idea! Anyways, take care!

Your tree is beautiful. I liked the photo of Blair's "accident".

Cami & Blair, some of my favorite lovebirds! I'm glad to see you joined the blogging world.

It looks like our homemaking class is paying off, nice work on the oranges/limes.
Hope you guys have a wonderful holiday season.

I was so excited to see you on my blog!!! I don't get to see all of my favorite cousins enough, I miss ya'll. Unfortunately we won't be coming home for Christmas this year. It is our year to go home to WA, but it is just too expensive to fly 5 people right now. Bummer! Keep blogging though, so I can kind of see you anyway! I am so glad that you are so happy and doing so well!
