Ice Skating

I had never seen Blair ice skate before, and I had no idea what I was in for.  Who knew I had a professional on my hands?  When we got to the rink I could barely hold him back . . . he was seriously itching to get on the ice.   We went on New Years Eve with a bunch of my family, and I was having to keep Blair from causing trouble out on the ice.  He got into a game of tag with my nieces and nephews, and one of my little nephews later informed him that that was against the rink rules!  Nonetheless, they all had a lot of fun together  and no one was seriously injured.

After skating we all went into the nearby batting cages and most everyone took a shot at it.  Blair grew up skating on the frozen river by his house and is therefore a natural at ice skating; however,  there's no baseball in Wyoming schools, so that sport was a little tougher for him.  He did however decide he could handle the "fast" speed on the machine, and I think was amazed at the actual velocity of the ball!!!  All kidding aside, considering his lack of experience, he looked quite natural!  It was a lot of fun, we even got my dad in the cages.  I must admit that he was pretty dang good.  His hand eye coordination was amazing and he connected almost every time.  I think it was a bit humbling for his younger sons and sons-in-law as they struggled!  I decided I probably should've listened closer to his advice through all my years of softball :)

Anyway, I plan to post some fun pictures from our Christmas break soon (and if I commit to that on my blog than I have to do it )  Anyway, sorry for the inactivity. . . life's been a little crazy!

You two photograph very well! I love to see your pictures. I'm glad you had such a good time in Washington. I'm actually planning an "Idaho run" in a few weeks if the roads are good. I hope the Christmas presents for the grandkids don't turn into Valentine presents. Committing on the blog is serious, I know what you mean.

Love, Mom
