two

So, I've decided the terrible two's aren't really that terrible...yet :)

Briggs turned two in January!  I can't believe what a little boy he's turning into!!

Because about two weeks before his birthday his little world had been turned upside down with the arrival of some new little dude stealing his thunder, we decided for Briggs birthday that we would just have a whole day all about him....since very little had been about him lately!

He woke up to balloons and presents!! (He was almost as excited about the balloons)

Trying on his new shirt and giving his new elmo a hug (noticing a trend.....remember the woody hug?)

That morning, we loaded up and went to the gym at the Church and just let Briggs run free to his hearts content.  Remember.... life had been pretty boring at our house for Briggs, and Walker was only two weeks old at this point, so that was a serious treat in his eyes :)

Then we had Spaghetti for dinner....his FAV!  Can't you tell?

We had cake on elmo plates (and we had elmo hats, but we couldn't get him to wear his).

Then...we finished off the night watching Cars together with a giant bowl of popcorn....life couldn't get any better in his eyes :)

I'm sure everyone thinks the same about their own kids, but I'm convinced I have the greatest two year old of them all :)

Briggs has his moments and knows how to push my buttons at times, but most of the time he's the sweetest little dude who keeps us laughing.

A few random and fun things about Briggs at two that I'd like to remember:

:: Basically on his own, just after turning two, Briggs could recognize every uppercase letter in the alphabet.  Within about a week or two, he could also name the lower case letters!  We would read ABC books quite a bit, but I honestly didn't think he would catch on so quick.  He constantly amazes me!

:: Briggs' favorite movies/characters are : Woody, Buzz, Tigger, and Pooh

:: Briggs loves nursery and I am especially grateful for that with the arrival of Walker!

:: I'm pretty sure he's a lefty

:: He often refers to me as Cami (we're working on that) and for some reason decided to start calling my dad Rick instead of Grandpa

:: Briggs can spot tractors, elmo, and pictures of Jesus all from about a mile away.  It often takes me a long time to spot where he's found them.

:: Briggs is an awesome sleeper!  From the moment I get him out of his high chair after lunch, he literally runs to his room for his nap.  Lucky...I know!

:: Briggs LOVES "crap-orn" (a.k.a. popcorn)

:: Since Walker was born, Briggs often comes up to me saying "I hold you".  He's never been a really cuddly kid, but since he notices Walker getting so much hold time, he wants in on it :)  I don't mind, I love when he'll sit and let me hold him!

:: Briggs has a serious fear of the vacuum.  Whenever we vacuum it's like he has to keep one on it at all times, yet stay as far away as possible while doing so.

:: Briggs LOVES his little brother (a little too much some times).  I can't wait for when Walker's old enough to interact back!!
