Ever since we've been married, Blair and I have had a silent battle over the placement of the dishrag in/on the sink (don't judge, you know you have your silly "things" too). We have probably only discussed it verbally once or twice, but silently it's been going on for years.
My Way (pictured left below): I like things to look neat and tidy when the kitchen is all clean. Nicely folded in half hanging in the middle seems just right in my eyes.
His Way (pictured right below): Blair feels that my way the rag hung too far down into the sink and allowed too much water to periodically get the bottom of the rag wet whenever the tap was turned on, allowing for more chances for the rag to become mildewy/stinky. So, his solution was to put it folded (sometimes) up on top of the sink. But I wasn't a fan because it didn't look as tidy :)
So for years we have been silently moving the dish rag back and forth, back and forth....probably feeling slightly irritated each time.
Until, one day I (I think it was me, can't quite remember) tried folding the rag in half and placing it over the center of the sink long ways (as shown below) and it dawned on me....this could be the solution! The rag isn't hanging down into the sink allowing for it to get "wet" all the time, and it also looked neat and tidy.
And just like that a compromise was reached (don't know why we didn't think of it sooner) and our dish rag will forever be placed like this :)
Whew....

That is so funny! Mark has learned that he has to just give in to my way...especially in the kitchen, it is my territory. :) Good compromising...and thanks for the giggle this morning.
haha, We have gone thru the same ordeal. At least Blair wasn't just throwing it haphazardly in the sink... :) Love having you so close Cam! We need to get together again soon!
Everything is very open with a very clear clarification
of the challenges. It was really informative. Your website is very useful.
